Prototype Machining History and Rapid Prototyping Assembly History

Prototype

Rapid prototyping is a revolutionary and powerful technology with wide range of applications. The process of Rapid Prototyping involves quick building up of a prototype or working model for the purpose of testing the various design features, ideas, concepts, functionality, output and performance. The user is able to give immediate feedback regarding the prototype and its performance. Rapid prototyping is essential part of the process of system designing and it is believed to be quite beneficial as far as reduction of project cost and risk are concerned.

Rapid prototyping is known by many terms as per the technologies involved, like SFF or solid freeform fabrication, FF or freeform fabrication, digital fabrication, AFF or automated freeform fabrication, 3D printing, solid imaging, layer-based manufacturing, laser prototyping and additive manufacturing.

History of Rapid Prototyping :

Sixties: The first rapid prototyping techniques became accessible in the later eighties and they were used for production of prototype and model parts. The history of rapid prototyping can be traced to the late sixties, when an engineering professor, Herbert Voelcker, questioned himself about the possibilities of doing interesting things with the computer controlled and automatic machine tools.  These machine tools had just started to appear on the factory floors then. Voelcker was trying to find a way in which the automated machine tools could be programmed by using the output of a design program of a computer.

Seventies: Voelcker developed the basic tools of mathematics that clearly describe the three dimensional aspects and resulted in the earliest theories of algorithmic and mathematical theories for solid modeling. These theories form the basis of modern computer programs that are used for designing almost all things mechanical, ranging from the smallest toy car to the tallest skyscraper.  Volecker’s theories changed the designing methods in the seventies, but, the old methods for designing were still very much in use. The old method involved either a machinist or machine tool controlled by a computer. The metal hunk was cut away and the needed part remained as per requirements.

Eighties: However, in 1987, Carl Deckard, a researcher form the University of Texas, came up with a good revolutionary idea. He pioneered the layer based manufacturing, wherein he thought of building up the model layer by layer. He printed 3D models by utilizing laser light for fusing metal powder in solid prototypes, single layer at a time.   Deckard developed this idea into a technique called “Selective Laser Sintering”. What was found that this particular process produced results that were very promising. The history of Prototyping is quite new and recent. However, since you can use this particular technique in a wide variety of applications it has grown and grown.

Voelcker’s and Deckard’s stunning findings, innovations and researches have given extreme impetus to this significant new industry known as rapid prototyping or free form fabrication. It has revolutionized the designing and manufacturing processes.

Though, there are many references of people pioneering the rapid prototyping technology, the industry gives recognition to Charles Hull for the patent of Apparatus for Production of 3D Objects by Stereolithography. Charles Hull is recognized by the industry as the father of rapid prototyping.

Present-day Rapid Prototyping: Today, the computer engineer has to simply sketch the ideas on the computer screen with the help of a design program that is computer aided. A really precise 3D Object can be created and modified with Computer Aided Designing or CAD.

Auto Handheld Tracking Devices

GPS car tracking

There are many different types of auto navigation systems. Among the many you will find those that come factory installed, those that are attached to the interior of your automobile through the use of suction cups, and still others that are handheld devices which can simply be installed by attaching a cord to your cars cigarette lighter. These devices don't offer quite the functionality and ease of use as some of the other (need I say pricier) types of navigational devices but you should not be fooled by features that you might not find all that useful in reality.

Being a bargain hunter is what I do. There really is nothing I can do to change my thrifty (some might say cheap) nature. Having the best "toys" are great, but would prefer to purchase them without spending too much. For this reason alone I decided to seriously consider some of the many handheld navigational tools on the market today.

There are many reasons I find these devices attractive. First of all, they suit many purposes. Not only are they useful when traveling by car (if you purchase the right software of course), they are also quite useful when taking your travels off road as well. You can use them four wheeling in the country, riding horses in wide open spaces, hiking in the hills and mountains, or when getting away by bike for the day. My personal favorite use for these nifty tools however is on the side roads. I'm a horrible navigator and a mapping GPS car tracking handheld is just the thing to keep me on track and on target.

I really dislike the feeling of being lost and not in control of my whereabouts. It is a frightening feeling that is only intensified whenever there are children on board during those lost moments in time. Only someone who has ever experienced that feeling while looking into the eyes of her babies and feeling so alone on top of being so lost can really understand. The fear can be overwhelming in these types of situations if they were to take place.

The best action to take is proactive. Avoid putting yourself in situations where you will feel lost. This of course, hasn't always been possible in the past. Having a navigational device on hand at all times can go such a long way towards alleviating that fear and calming any qualms someone may have about the need to travel to unfamiliar places at time. Since we must occasionally stray from the world we know, love, and are familiar with it is great to know that there are devices to help us find our way in many situations.

If you are looking for a great gift to give almost anyone on your Christmas list this year, a nice handheld GPS tracking system with mapping capabilities is a great gift to give. A gift like this should not wait until the holiday season, especially if it's someone whose safety is your number one concern. Females who travel alone will see benefit to these devices, wheather be it for driving, hiking, boating, or any other activity.

No matter what your specific needs in auto navigation systems may be, there are many systems that could suit them quite nicely. Take the time to study what is available and reconcile your needs with your budget in order to find the one that will work best for you. Handheld GPS systems with mapping abilities offer a highly affordable option along with some surprising extra features, which will make them attractive in and out of the automobile. Good luck in finding the perfect auto navigation system for you. It's out there somewhere.

Reverse Phone Number Look-Up - Prank Callers Have Nowhere to Hide Anymore

reverse cell phone search

Here are some top tips to consider:

If you are getting pestered by a particular number or frequently getting calls from a number which has a computer on the other end, and you are sure it is a landline, you can usually get the identity and owner details for free using an online number search tool called a reverse phone search.

However, if the number is from a cellphone, you may not be able to use a free service. This is because whilst landline numbers are in the public domain, cellphone numbers aren't. This is where you need to use a specialist service and one which is reliable and protects your details. I would only recommend one that clearly states all searches are 100% confidential.

So my other tip, and the good news is that, if you find the right  reverse phone search site you can not only locate cellphone numbers but you can also make sure your own details are protected from searches. That is a little known tip and some sites will mention it to you but not all. Extensive database files used by reverse telephone search directories can help you get the full name of the person connected to that mysterious phone number. Unlike other ways of finding information, you will not need to provide a lot of details if you wish to conduct a reverse cell phone search.

The sites that i have seen offer unlimited searches from as low as $19. Want to see the owners location on a map then use a reverse phone number lookup to reveal the position and personal data! After you register with reverse phone search you will be given access to their address records spanning as much as twenty years past. This will help you remember who the person is and where you know them from.

It looks like the days of prank calls, relentless telephone marketing and weird callers may soon be over. Just make sure you have the area code and seven digit number to make the search. Also, if you are located outside the USA but are getting unknown call from inside the USA you can still use the number search service.

Doing a Reverse Cell Phone Lookup

A reverse phone search is in need when one of these scenarios develops. You may be receiving a number of irritating calls from pranksters. You pick up the call but there is no one answering on the other line. Or you may have picked up an unknown number on your caller ID that you are not familiar with. This is why you need to use a reverse cell phone lookup to trace the owner of that phone number.

Reverse phone lookups, with their ability to tell you who owns a phone number, have existed since around the time of the first phone book directories. Called the "gray pages," they used to list phone numbers in sequential order to help people search a number. Today, you probably will not find any gray pages in your local phone book, but you will be able to find those numbers and many more online using reverse phone lookup websites.

Few things can be as fun as getting in touch with a friend whom you've lost track of over the years. After all, as the old saying goes, old friends are as valuable as gold. When you find someone that you used to be fond of, you get the pleasure of reconnecting with them, and the two of you can automatically pick up your friendship right where you left off. But finding an old friend can often seem harder than it has to be. If you want to get in touch with a friend you haven't heard from in a while, a great way to search is by using a reverse cell phone lookup.

Most of us are still used to using the White Pages or Yellow Pages to look up a phone number we need. The more computer literate of us have learned to forsake the "dead tree" version of these publications and instead use the Internet to perform the same task. However, even the most advanced computer users are new to the concept of a reverse phone lookup. A reverse phone lookup may sound complicated, but they are perfectly normal and legal ways to garner information online.

I have seen websites claiming to offer free cell lookups, but they always lead eventually to the paid sites in the end, even allowing people to search for free and then charging to view the results. It is the sad truth that the only place where you are likely to find detailed reverse cell records is within the legitimate paid directories. In conclusion, the answer is no, a free reverse cell phone lookup does not currently exist. However if you really want to access such records then I believe paying a small fee is a price worth paying.

Phone Conference Calling: Why Is Older Technology Still Preferred?

For years, businesses have used conference calls to keep their businesses connected.  Before certain advancements in technology, they were forced to use phone conference calling.  This allowed them to connect other business associates who might not be in the same city, state or even country.  It kept people connected without having to worry about distance or proximity.

Audio vs. Video Conference Calling

Now, with certain technological advancements, there are new ways to connect with others.  Computers and video technology has enabled the use of video conference calls.  Many people still don't like the new version, however.

Video conference calling brings different aspects to the conference calling.  With video, the person has to worry about being judged on what they look like or how they're dressed.  With phone conference calling, business can be conducted professionally and without prejudice, exactly as it was meant to be.

Phone conference calling is still prevalent among businesses even though other forms of conference calling exist.  Conference calling by phone is often cheaper than other conference call counterparts.  Businesses can conduct a conference call with other business partners or potential partners and only have to worry about the phone bill.

Party Lines

For some businesses, phone conference calling is the best way to do business.  Conference calls via telephone aren't used primarily for business, however.  Many social groups use phone conference calling.  They call this a party line in which like minded individuals can join without having to be in the same room, city or even the same country.

Phone conference calling brings people together without having to worry about judgment or prejudice.  People can converse, ask questions and gather information in real time, at the same time.  The use of the telephone to conduct conference calls has prevailed throughout the years despite the invention of such mediums such as e-mail and video conference calling.  The phone is still preferred by many as a way to bring others together.

Despite recent technological advancements, phone conference calling has prevailed and will continue to do so as long as people want to be connected despite being far apart from each other.

It is the perfect way for sales teams to report numbers to a sales manager.  It is the best way for managers to report to higher executives.  It is also a great way for people to meet other like-minded people, even if those people live on different continents.

What You Need To Know About Flat Rate Conference Calling

Boom in Conference Calling

The twenty-first century has seen a boom in virtual space as the home office has become a reality, the international community becoming a virtual space and hence conference calling has become a necessity.

This has led to readily available flat rate conference calling schemes and these rates have steadily declined due to the economies of scale because an increasing number of people have begun to avail conference calling services. There are usually four types of conference calling services provided and these are audio (on demand and attended), web, data and video.

Many companies offer flat rate conference calling plans that offer reservation-less audio and web conferencing which are low cost audio conferencing solutions. These companies may charge a flat monthly rate and in addition, allow the customer to avail of free unlimited Web conferencing for as many as 15 attendees.

There may also be a per minute call charge which may be as low as 4 cents per minute during the evening hours and for other calls the charges may be 2.5 cents per minute plus free unlimited toll audio conferencing.

Flat rate conference calling allows the client to get the latest in reservation-less conference calling, staying connected 24/7 without the need to go through an operator or to make reservations and all you need to pay for this service is a flat monthly rate which can be as low as US$40 per month and which the service provider offers by using sophisticated multi-links and octave bridges, to ensure continuous service.

The service provider is sure to also have battery backup as well as diesel generators to ensure that there are no interruptions due to power outages. In addition, they may also have a network that allows for dynamic allocation of traffic to different centers and thus eliminate congestion.

Small businesses are finding many advantages in flat rate conference calling plans and they certainly are more economical than call-per-minute plans. It is for this reason that conference calling service providers are targeting them to sell their services and to guarantee reliability at reasonable costs.

Flat rate conference calling allows the owner to not have to pay for participant’s long distance calls or to just pay for minutes not utilized. Knowing ones needs will help in locating the best service provider that offers the most competitive flat rate calling conference plans.

There are certain advantages to using a flat rate conference calling plan as it ensures that the host pays only a fixed fee each month and this will suit companies making a lot of calls because bridge fees are fixed. In addition, the flat rate is always the same in spite of the duration of the calls and so one knows what one has to pay without getting any nasty surprises later on.

Since both calls are reservationless it means that there is no need to schedule calls, especially during peak hours and it also means that because the calls are secure there will not be danger of leaking important information.

Cupola, Cupola Furnace, Cupola Foundry Information

Cupola Furnace

Cupola furnaces are the easiest and most economical furnace to work with for the small foundry owner. Hobby metal casters are always on a look out for a cheaper alternative which will provide safety and yield quality results and the cupola furnace delivers all this.

The common appearance of a cupola furnace is that of a smokestack. Really the size of the furnace depends on the DIY Metal Caster because it really can be anything from very large to very small. Commonly, the cupola furnace is supported on four legs with a drop bottom to remove any waste from the furnace. This type of furnace does not use a crucible so the metal caster will place the metal to be melted inside of the furnace. The furnace is fitted with a sprout and runner to pour the molten material which is called a taphole. Sometimes cupolas are fitted with a way for slag to be removed. The slag tapholes are located near the back of the cupola a little higher then the other taphole. Cupolas usually have a brick base with the bottom that is made of clay and sand and it is so because usually this is just temporary in the long run.

Cupola Metal Casting usually involves working with iron and bronze, though other alloys like aluminum can be melted as well.

The common fuel source for cupolas is coke with limestone acting as a flux. Air can be pumped in to increase the burning of the coke. When the coke is hot enough the alloy is introduced in the top of the cupola. Some will place the alloy then fresh coke and then more alloy. The molten alloy will drip through the coke to collect in the well near the taphole. When the level of the molten alloy is high enough, the taphole is opened and then alloy runs into a ladle. When enough has poured the taphole is closed with the use of a refractory plug. What is good to remember is that with cupola casting, you do not need a crucible.

Crucibles are traditionally used to melt the alloy and the collect it in the molten state. With the use of tongs the crucible is carried to the mold and poured. The ladle takes the place of the crucible in this regard. The metal caster pours the molten alloy which is in the ladle into the mold. The most common Metal Casting process is Sand casting which lends itself well with cupola furnaces.

Cupola furnaces can either be purchased or constructed. A lot of Casters who are DYI Metal Casters just end up making their own cupolas because of budget reasons. Even some casters have used coffee cans to create their cupola's and there have been plenty more creative ideas on what to make Cupolas out of. By making your own furnace you will be able to customize it. Many will need a furnace to be small and portable. No one wants to leave a furnace out in the rain, after all. The chances are pretty good that if you are into Metal Casting then you have some of the technical knowledge needed to make your own cupola furnace. If not, then it is worth a shot just be extremely careful. You may want to find someone in your community that can aid you in your endeavor.

Direct TV Satellite Brings Tons Of Options

There is no doubt that television has been providing people with endless hours of entertainment since it was first introduced commercially in the 1940s. As television caught on and became popular, the number of shows expanded continually in order to satisfy the needs of viewers to be entertained in the comfort of their own homes. Today, the direct TV satellite services have come to be the most popular way for people to enjoy the shows they most want to watch at home.

When it comes to getting the most viewing pleasure and the greatest selection of choices in programming, people look to either cable television or satellite TV companies for the most part. Many people are finding that they prefer the selection, the service and the quality that they can enjoy through the combination of a satellite dish antenna and a dish network satellite receiver.

Direct TV satellite services offer more programming options, as well as better quality. They also provide all of this at a lower cost than those old-fashioned, hard-wired cable TV companies. In addition, there are numerous people who do not live in metropolitan areas. In most cases, there isn't any cable service available in rural, country settings. In these instances, using a TV satellite dish to receive their television entertainment is their only option.

In order to receive satellite TV service, you will need the basic home dish network equipment, which consists of a satellite antenna and a receiver, and a contract with one of the satellite TV services providers. The two main TV satellite dish programming service companies are the Dish Network and DirecTV. Both of these companies provide service to virtually all areas of the United States and because they compete intensely against each other to gain new customers they often offer free installation of the home dish network system. For those with High Definition televisions, DirecTV are the top broadcasters in high definition TV.

As long as you have the ability to install a mini dish antenna on your property so that the dish has a clear line of sight to the southern sky, you are a good candidate to become a satellite TV customer. Because a satellite dish antenna must be correctly aligned with the orbiting satellites in order to receive the broadcasts, it is important to have the dish antenna installed by a professional who has been trained and who can properly test the system to make sure everything was correctly situated.

One of the reasons why many people like having a home dish network system is that there are many international channels that they can also have access to, in addition to the standard US channels. This is especially great for people who have an interest in another country, for those who want to learn another language, or for people who have moved to the states from another country, allowing them to keep in tough with what is happening in their native country.

With a direct TV satellite system installed in your home, you will have the ability to choose from a huge variety of different types of news, educational and entertainment programs. Once people start to enjoy all of this wonderful programming they can never go back to any other way of receiving their entertainment and they will never have the complaint that they are bored because there is nothing to watch on their satellite TV.

In February 2009, people with antennas who receive their local network stations will need a converter box. This is because all stations are going to digital broadcasting. One way around this problem is to subscribe to satellite television. Satellite TV does not need a converter box because it is already digital. Plus you will get hundreds more options when it comes to watching television shows. Is that not enough for you? Well...you can also get software packages that turn your home computer into a television set. All you have to do is sit back in your chair and surf through the channels. Why You Should Get a VoIP Phone

Here is some important information that you should be aware of if you have heard of the term VoIP before, but are still not exactly sure of what it is and whether it is going to be worth it for you to make the switch and get a VoIP phone.

What is it

The VoIP service has been around for quite some time now and the idea of an IP phone is not something that is new. Rather than a regular phone line, VoIP is a technology that allows you to make calls using a broadband internet connection.

There are some VoIP services which even allow you to call other people using the same services. Then there are others which allow you to call anyone who has a telephone number including local, long distance, mobile, and international numbers. You want to make sure that you are aware of what it includes if you do decide to get a VoIP phone service.

You are going to need to be aware of what type of equipment is needed if you are interested in getting a VoIP phone. A broadband connection is required and this can be done through a cable modem, or high speed services such as DSL or a local area network.

You are also going to need a computer, adapter, or specialized phone, and keep in mind that some VoIP services only work over your computer or a special VoIP phone, while other services allow you to use a traditional phone connected to a VoIP adapter.

What it has to Offer

VoIP service offers may benefits. You are going to want to be aware of these benefits so that you can know all the advantages that it stands to offer you.

For one VoIPis consequently more cost effective as it uses substantially less bandwidth than a traditional telephone call. There are however several other benefits as well, such as the fact that you will get a simplified infrastructure. You will no longer need separate cabling for your telephone system with VoIP on your network.

Because a VoIP exchange is based on software rather than hardware, it will be much easier for you to alter and maintain and will greatly reduce your operating costs. These are just a few of the many benefits you will receive by making the switch.

Check Out this awesome no cost article on why you should change to a Voip Phone. To browse more articles on VoIP visit, http://www.voip.jsgenterprises.com.

Bring Everyone Together With Conference Calling

Even though people may live far apart, sometimes it becomes necessary to bring them together. In order to compare notes, to have meetings, or to unveil new programs, companies often have to bring satellite offices together. Friends and family may also want to get together even though they may live states or continents apart. Traveling across the country or the world just for a meeting or a chat is very expensive.

Conference calling is much less expensive and it allows people to discuss what they need to, even if it's just for a few minutes. There are programs out there that will allow you to have free conference calling and then there those companies that charge. Even if you have to pay a little extra, however, conference calling is what you should use to bring your employees, friends or family together.

Company Meetings

Let's say for instance, that you are the CEO of a company based in Seattle, Washington. You have satellite offices in Houston, Phoenix, St. Louis and Los Angeles. You want to discuss the progress of each office, get some sales figures and you want to tell them about some new policies that just came into play. Sure, you could email the information to everyone but email can be unreliable. You'd much rather tell them in person, or at least let them hear it from your own mouth. Conference calling allows you to do just this. You can all call into the same number and everyone can listen and participate as if you were all in the same board room. It's extremely convenient and it allows you to connect with your employees, even if it's just briefly, and it's cheaper than flying all over the country.

Friends And Family

Conference calling is also great for bringing everyone together if you have family spread all over the country or the world. Sure, you won't be able to see them or touch them, as you could at a family reunion, but at least you can hear their voices. You can also conference call through your computer with the use of a web cam so that you can see your friends and family, or you can just talk to them on the phone. Just hearing the voice of a loved one is sometimes the best thing for you if you're feeling down, and it's great to be able to talk to many of your friends and family at once through conference calling.

Contact your cell phone provider or your phone company to see if they have conference calling capabilities. There are also conference calling services that you can call. You'll all be given a pass number which you can use to be transferred to your own virtual 'conference room' where you can all talk at your leisure and catch up, whether it's for business or pleasure.

Check out this awesome free piece of writing on how conference calling brings friends, family or business people together at little or no cost. Browse more piece of writings at http://www.conferencecalling.jsgenterprises.com.

Why Would I Buy A Bluetooth Cell Phone

It's essential for you to be aware of the reasons you need to consider "Bluetooth" before you purchase your next cell phone.

Learning About Bluetooth

First and foremost take the time to learn about what Bluetooth has to offer.

Although Bluetooth has really only been around for the past few years, it has quickly grown and the number of people who are becoming aware of Bluetooth technology and Bluetooth-enabled devices and related benefits are increasing dramatically.

The basic purpose behind the development of Bluetooth was to create a single digital wireless protocol, one that was capable of connecting multiple devices and overcoming issues arising from the synchronization of these devices.

The use of low-power radio waves is used to transmit data with Bluetooth networking.Bluetooth transmission is at a frequency of 2.45 gigahertz. This particular frequency band has been set aside by international agreement for the use of scientific, medical and industrial devices.

Bluetooth Cell Phone Benefits

One of the most prominent advantages of Bluetooth is to offer a cable free environment for the user. This is essentially why this device was created, to offer the user ease of use not to mention the convenience it provides.

The affordability aspect of Bluetooth productsputs it in the hands of the majority of peole incredibly advanced technology. As technology advances, and it certainly does by the day, more and more products are in the reach of the average consumer.

Of course, any device capable of incorporating this technology will need to have some sort of general purpose CPU cable to run the lightweight networking and data-link protocols that govern Bluetooth transmission.

If you haven't had the chance to try a Bluetooth Phone, you'll really never go back to the "old way" once you do. There are many different Bluetooth cell phone models not mention Bluetooth accessories that are available. If you're concerned about shopping and comparing cell phones, don't be - You can shop and compare phones in one location.

Choose the right cell phone for you - one that meets your needs. It's never easier than shopping in one location where all products are listed for your review. They even offer user experiences for you to read about, so you can read first hand how others find ease of operating the cell phone you're considering, before you buy.

You are still probably not completely aware of, but the word VoIP is one that may already be familiar to you.

VoIP, is the one type of technology that everyone should be aware of today. VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol, is simply the transmission of voice traffic over IP-based networks. The use of VoIP has become extremely popular, especially over the past couple of years, and this is largely due to the fact that there are many cost advantages to consumers over traditional telephone networks.

VoIP can help you to save money, and everyone nowadays is looking to save money. Most Americans pay a flat monthly fee for local telephone calls and a per-minute charge for any long-distance calls. However, with the use of a VoIP phone call, it can be placed across the Internet, completely free of charge, but for paying the cost of your internet bill of course.

Types of Calls

There are actually a few different types of calls that can be made here. These telephone calls can either be placed to other VoIP devices, or to normal telephones on the PSTN. There are three methods that you can use to connect to a VoIP network and this makes it incredibly easy and convenient to get started if you want to make the switch: using a VoIP telephone, using a normal telephone with a VoIP adapter, and using a computer with speakers and a microphone.

There are several terrific options available to you here if you are interested in learning more about this before making the switch. Read some of the many different books that are available on the subject is the best idea before making the switch.

You will be able to find all the equipment that you would need to make the switch online, and the internet is also a great resource for learning about this service and all the advantages that it has to offer.

Just make sure that you are aware of all the benefits that this service has to offer before going through with it and making the switch, because you want to ensure that you are aware of all you going to be getting in return.

As more and more people are learning more about it and understanding all the benefits it has to offer, VoIP is definitely an awesome service that is worth checking out, and which continues to gain in popularity.

Internet Phone Service

You don’t have to pay a fortune for a phone system or phone service for your business.

Smaller businesses or home based businesses need the “big company” image to compete, and can easily and affordably do this by setting up an internet based phone service. Mobile professionals in particular find this telecommunication solution extremely practical.

You’re essentially set-up in less than a few minutes. Your “front door” becomes the toll free or local area phone number that you select. You also have the option of transferring your existing phone number into this service and attach all the full features with your phone number that come with the phone service.

With an internet phone service you have a number of ways that you can manage your calls:  You can set things up so that calls coming in go to your mobile phone, or perhaps you want calls going to an office phone number, or simply capture the calls directly from your PC.

This internet phone service also enables you to receive and send faxes, route callers to any member of your staff, team or other co-worker no matter where they’re located and best of all, it gives your caller an auto-attendant that can be set up with whatever message you need delivered, (for example, “push 1 for sales, push 2 for accounting, etc..”). Give your callers a dial-by-name directory as well.

Grow your phone system at the rate your business grows. Expansion is simple, you can add extensions, route calls to extensions, create additional departments and you can even connect to offices in a remote location.

You can set up your own virtual phone system online in minutes. You don’t need an engineering degree to do this. Also, with this particular service there are no contracts, no long-term commitments and no cancellation penalties. Best of all, you can see if the service works for you by taking the Free Trial Run.

More HD With Satellite TV

We have been itching to get rid of cable TV service for quite a while. The problem is they suck you in with their packages that include voice, high speed internet, and TV service. When customers need to disconnect one, you miss out on the savings of the package.

But the cable TV service just has to go, as the service and quality is below average. There is so much discussion these days about hi def, there just wasn't much of that with Charter Cable. So I began doing a little research on who else was providing service in my neck of the woods.

I am fortunate to be one of the people who have a few options. Unlike many people who can only pick from just the cable company or Direct TV, I have another option in my area. The old telephone company in my neighborhood has been altering their network. So I have an additional consideration with AT&T and their U-Verse service.

That doesn't of course mean I won't have the same issues. It would place me in the same situation as with the cable company, as the telephone guys want customers to package their television setup with high speed and voice service. If the service is good, I'll be satisfied. But if its not you are in the same situation that we all hate, being stuck with cable TV that isn't all that great.

Most reviews I found on the internet are pretty good on telecom TV service. Of course it is new, there is always a learning curve with a new technology like this, and some customers share their poor reviews. Those reviews are the quite amusing, because customers decide to write a bad review on their bad experience and share it on the web. They rail on the company like it is some giant conspiracy to make the customer unhappy, like the company doesn't want our money!

Another way to go that I'm seriously considering is of course satellite TV. Since we have six TV watchers in the home, we usually buy a premium TV bundle. The satellite TV choices are pretty comparable, as the DirecTV Premier and the Dish Network Everything package are both right around $115 per month. Sure that's fairly high for cable television, but when you make the comparison with taking your family to supper and a show, it really isn't all that much.

Is the DVR the Greatest Invention Ever?

The digital video recorder has to be the best add-on to my TV. Ever since I got connected to DirecTV and their top of the line DVR, my television viewing habits have been altered.

Here is an example.

If you have not watched television with a TiVo or a DVR, you do not know what you are missing. You have complete control over all the programming you decide to watch. If you are watching a program, and all of the sudden you realize that you are starving, you can just hit the pause button. Go make your food, and come back when you’re ready, even if it takes an hour!

Then when you start watching the program again, you will have the added bonus of fast forwarding through any advertisements that come up. Pass right through them each time they pop up! Some days I don't even see a single commercial.

Now here is how I get the most out of my digital video recorder setup. I don't even like to channel surf anymore. I simply set up my DVR to save the programs I like. Even when watching football, I set the digital video recorder, then I sit down about an hour after the game actually starts. That way, I can skip through all the commercials, and watch the game in half the time.

Finally, I can always see new episodes of my favorite series. An example, new episodes are coming out soon of Friday Night Lights on Direct TV. On the digital video recorder, all I have to do is select the record series option, and every time the show comes on, my digital video recorder finds it day or night, and saves it for me. I can set it to save all of the episodes, or just the first-run episodes. All of this in beatiful hi def too!

Then, when I have the time to watch TV, all of my favorite shows are ready and waiting there for me to watch. No need to rearrange my schedule around the networks, not with my new DirecTV digital video recorder.

Why More People Are Going With Satellite Television

Which is the better choice? People in the USA are now more likely to order satellite TV over cable TV for the bottom line reason that you receive more for your money with satellite television. You also get all of the best that television has to offer the customer. Not to mention the better price as well. Satellite television costs less than cable by far. These days with satellite TV, you will be getting hundreds of stations, audio and video, with your package. Cable companies charge you by how many channels you have, and that can really add up fast.

If you want any extra premium channels such as Starz or Cinemax, get ready with your cash, because you have to be prepared to spend a lot of extra money. They don't provide you with any service at all in the outlying areas, thus satellite television is the only game in these regions of the county. Cable TV operators will offer more stations in the urban centers, as there is the potential for many more customers. So at times, a lot may depend on where you live in the country. While they are offering more pay channels in the suburban parts of the country, the number of channels you will receive overall depends on the cable operator, they aren't always up to date with the most modern technology.

Satellite television on the other hand offers many more channels, and lots of programs that fit your interests. If you haven't ever considered satellite television, it may be time to open your eyes to all that is now available. As mentioned earlier you will pay less for the cost for satellite TV when comparing it to cable. Usually, cable can be very expensive because they have a large network to upgrade and maintain.

If you are the type of person that wants more for your money, and who isn't like that, the certainly check into the two large satellite companies offering service to see what the can offer you today. Another point to consider is quality. Most of us have had the experience of receiving poor quality picture or sound from the cable company. Then when you call for service, it takes a long time for a technician to come out and fix the problem. While you may have problems from time to time with satellite TV, overall they have better customer service.

Satellite television offers the best in digital programming, and they back up their product with excellent service. With satellite TV you can also receive foreign language channels, for example the DirecTV Arabic package and the DISH Latino Spanish package are good foreign languge options. Finally, if you have a family, including young children you can find much more for them to watch. There literally hundreds of family and children's programs for you to pick from. Add to that a DVR, and you will always be able to entertain the kids.

GPS Tracking System

Cheap GPS Systems

To help people find their way around today’s technology has invented the gps system. This system is otherwise known as Global Positioning Satellite systems. The gps systems use the satellites which have been made to help with navigation, tracking and location coordinates. You will be able to buy various appliances which have been equipped with the gps systems. As there is a wide range you may be able to find some cheap gps appliances to use.

This however means that you will need to see about the various features that are present in these devices. With a gps system you should be able to see the monitor interface clearly. Your new cheap gps interface should be able to provide you with easy to see clear maps. Also to change from one feature or section of the map to another the touch screen should be in excellent working condition.

The different gps systems will also have varying prices which are also dependent on the features which are embedded into the system. For the most part you should be able to find a cheap gps within the price range of about $100 to $400 USD. Now just in case you feel that this price range is very expensive you might want to reconsider that thought.

The newer gps systems which have many new and improved features come in the price bracket of $999.99 and upwards. You can even find a not so cheap gps system available for the healthy price of – quick find a chair and have a fan near by - $2,000.00 USD. Now when you look at these price comparisons you must admit that paying about $200 is better than the high price of $2,000.00.

Once you have gotten past this shock point we can proceed. You will need to do some shopping and choose the cheap gps model which has all of the features that are necessary for a gps. These features should be a low price, an excellent quality touch screen monitor, a visible and easy to read interface.

The street maps should also be clearly visible. The route you will take and your current position highlighted so that you can see them even in the darkness. The various street names, railway crossings, hospitals, and other venues of importance should be shown and stated well. The voice prompts which are part of the gps systems should be heard clearly even on a cheap gps.

As technology is meant to help us you should choose the items which will provide this help. While getting the brand new products that are available can show your status and prestige you will need to pay a substantial price. A cheap gps on the other hand can give you all of the help you require for a fraction of the price.

GPS Maps

To help people find their through unfamiliar territory many devices and items have been invented. Of all of these the current favorite is that of gps systems. These systems work on the principle of a tracking system that bounces signals off of orbiting satellites which have been made especially for this need. The information you receive is translated into the form of gps maps.

These gps maps show you the current position you are in and the final destination point. You will also be provided with a highlighted route to take. In most cases the route will be the quickest and the most efficient way to arrive at your destination. There are a few cases where the gps system will not be able to provide you with the needed information. This is due to the insufficient data that has been provided to the system.

However you can rectify this situation by installing more updated gps maps. These new maps will have lots of extra information. In some instances you can also add city maps of countries where you are hoping to visit. Imagine being in an unfamiliar country and being able to drive in that country without any hassles.

In these gps maps you will find lots of valuable information. Among the information you can look into is the names of streets, various venues like hospitals, restaurants, hotels. As these are places of importance to travelers the gps maps will contain this information. The best way you can get hold of this information is to use the touch screen interface that is found with the gps systems.

When you use the touch screen interface the gps maps will show you the different streets in your locality. Based on the information you feed the gps system you will be shown the fastest route to take. This route will be shown more clearly as compared to that of the others. The onboard computer voice will enhance the information you receive from the gps maps.

With each of the gps systems that are available the gps maps are formatted differently. Some of the maps will show the route highlighted, while the other roads are depicted in a faint background picture. On some of the maps the gps system will also show many other pieces of information like near by trees, bodies of water, places of interest, railway crossings and others.

These are various items which are required for the traveler. The many different forms of gps maps will let you see and choose the best way to travel to your final destination. With the help of these gps maps you can be assured of reaching your travel destination quickly and safely.

Science – A Curse Or A Blessing

We cannot Say for certain whether science is a curse or a blessing. it is our use of science which would make science a curse or a Blessing . First let us see how man has used science for his good so that it has become a blessing for him. it is science that has provided modern man the life of ease, leisure and pleasure. It has brought within reach of the common man comforts and luxuries which were available in the past only to a privileged few.

Science has invented marvelous machines. It has discovered energies which run these machines. The machines have taken drudgery out of work. Distance has been conquered. Modern means of transport and communication have made the word shrink in size. Men and things and news and views can go around the globe today with lightning speed. Man has already landed on the moon and a man-made satellite has just completed it’s voyage through the solar system.

Our life has become healthier and longer. Modern hygiene, sanitation, medicine and surgery are conquering more and more physical and mental ills day by day. We now know and experience the joys of good health and longevity. Through the cinema and the video, the TV and the tape-reorder, science has worked wonders in the spheres of education and entertainment.

Though we welcome these blessing of science, we have to consider the darker side of the picture also. Machines have led to unemployment. They have polluted water and atmosphere. Thy have caused noise pollution. Factories have led to slums where human beings live in squalor. Our moral and spiritual progress has failed to keep pace with our scientific progress. We have allowed science to master us instead of using it as our servant.

Machines make us mechanical, deaden our sensibilities, stifle our creative talents, force mechanical regularity, uniformity and boredom upon us, increase our wants and desires, and tend to make us selfish, greedy and cruel. Geographical distance has, no doubt, vanished, but the gulf between the minds and hearts of man has widened.

Machines have given man leisure, but man misuses it to get cheap and vulgar entertainment which destroys his physical and mental health.
Again, science has put in our hands such fiendish weapons as the nuclear bomb, the guided missile and means of chemical and biological warfare. We are in danger of destroying ourselves with these monstrous means which, ironically, are our own creations. Rightly used science can bring heaven on earth. Wrongly used, it can trun this earth in to hell by destroying civilization.

Receiving Signals From Anywhere In The World With World Atomic Clocks

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if one could travel to different parts of the world and still have a clock around that will give you the exact time down to the nearest split-second? With the advent of the world atomic clock, such a facility has now become available to everyone and even if you travel to halfway across the world, a world atomic clock will always be able to give you the exact time of day in that part of the world.

Exceptional Functionality

The hallmark of a good quality world atomic clock is its exceptional functionality and sleek and compact design which should make it capable of receiving signals that are transmitted by different governments in diverse regions of the world. It can then use this information to tell the time in a particular part of the world right down to the last split-second.

In fact, a world atomic clock can also automatically set the date and it is even able to adjust its times to account for daylight saving time. But, scientists from different parts of the world are now looking beyond world atomic clocks and are in fact thinking about more advanced concepts that will mean that the clocks in our world will, in the future, need to have their time set by a timepiece that will circle high above the Earth. According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, this may one day become the norm rather than an exception – if things go according to plan.

In the minds of scientists working for NASA, there may in fact, be a better way to keep world time than through use of a world atomic clock and that is why they are working on a mission funded by NASA and which is known as Primary Atomic Reference Clock in Space or PARCS that has been put into the ISS (International Space Station) in the year 2006 in the hope that it will someday help NASA achieve its objectives to provide even more accurate time.

Because atoms can be slowed down considerably in space, future world atomic clocks could be made to provide ten times the accuracy as compared to what present day world atomic clocks are capable of.

In the meantime, the average American will have to contend with either using a digital clock. or using a world atomic clock. However, it is the former type of clock that is very popular today, and even wrist watches are going digital and since such watches and clocks are quite accurate and also not that expensive, many more people prefer using them instead of conventional watches and clocks.

One of the features of a world atomic clock is that it has a tiny elf within that does nothing but continuously ring the Time service in each country that you travel to and in this simple way, it can display the current time for the country that you have landed in.

Nature Sounds Clock Radios a diffrent choice Are A Great Way To Start The Day

If you love nature, you should invest in a nature sounds clock radio. A nature sounds clock radio will wake you up to nature sounds, an alarm or even the radio. Some even let you go to sleep with nature sounds if this helps you go to sleep better. There are many different types of nature sounds clock radios so you should check consumer reports and user reviews before you buy so that you know you’re getting the very best nature sounds clock radio for your money.

Many Set Themselves

Many nature sounds clock radios are preset at the factory and actually set themselves just like atomic clocks. They are very accurate and this ensures that you will wake up right on time, whether it be for work or some sort of appointment. No longer do you have to worry about setting your nature sounds clock, or resetting it whenever the time changes. If you get one of the nature sounds clock radios that set themselves, this takes all the stress out of whether or not you’re going to wake up on time.

Nature Sounds

The best part about nature sounds clock radios is that they will emit nature sounds to wake you up if you choose that function. You can wake up to birds chirping, the waves crashing against the shore, the rain falling, white noise, or even a heartbeat, such as the baby hears in the womb. Some nature sounds clock radios have different sounds but if you like nature, you’re sure to find a sound you enjoy. Most of these nature sounds clock radios also allow you to play the nature sounds to go to sleep by. If the rain lulls you to sleep, for instance, you can set a thirty to ninety minute timer so that the rain will play until you fall asleep. Then, you can wake up to whatever sound you set it to.

Dual Functions

You can also use your nature sounds clock radio to wake you up via your MP3 player, a CD, the radio or a buzzing alarm. It all depends on what kind of nature sounds clock you buy. You’ll be very happy with your nature sounds clock radio, however, as long as you love nature sounds and as long as you check those reviews to make sure you get the right one for your needs. Then you can sleep well knowing you’ll always get up on time and in a good mood.

How to choose Digital Watch Alarms Vs Phone Alarm Clocks

In this world of car alarms, babies on airplanes and unnecessary tonsillectomies, very few things are more annoying than cell phones.  The reason I hate them is because you can no longer buy a cell phone that works JUST as a phone.  You are forced to buy cell phones with all kinds of accessories such as being a clock radio or a phone alarm clock.  They remind me of the digital watch craze of the early 1980's.

Switched On Beethoven

I went to school with a grandson of a DuPont.  This guy would get a new digital watch every month.  Remember – this was the 1980's.  Getting a new digital watch – let alone one with an alarm – was the equivalent of getting a new iPod every month.  A lot of his friends got the same gift for Christmas and birthdays (not that I ever got one).  But he had a favorite.

This digital watch would play the full version of Beethoven's "Fur Elise" as its alarm.  And you haven't lived until you've heard "Fur Elise" transcribed into BEEP BEEPS.  We couldn’t get enough of it.  We drove our teachers nuts in much the same way that today's generation of school kids are maddening their educators with phone alarm clocks.

Watch Out

Phones aren’t for talking on anymore.  Now they check the stock market, download porn and act as phone alarm clocks.  I guess you would need a phone alarm clock if you're downloading porn and checking the Dow-Jones.  If you really wanted an alarm clock, you can get one for the fraction of the price of a phone alarm clock.

Phone alarm clocks are even easier to loose than travel alarm clocks or digital watches.  You couldn’t loose a digital watch unless you took it off.  Now, you can loose your phone alarm clock before you even get it out of the store.  Or, it can be stolen by thieves of all species.  One man in Turkey found out that phone alarm clocks make great eating for dogs.

He lost his phone and called it with another phone (obviously).  The ring came out of the dog's tummy.  Fortunately, all things must pass like the digital watch craze of the early 1980's and the phone alarm clock that the dog had eaten.  Perhaps fishing out that cell phone was a just reward for anyone who had to listen to this guy whooping it up on the phone with his mates.
